‘There is no tension between being a good business and being a good school’

How many times have you read an outstanding ISI inspection report for a school and learned later that that school has gone out of business. A good inspection report does not guarantee that the school is a viable business.

AMC is providing Independent Schools and any Maintained Primary Schools or Secondary Academies with the opportunity to be involved in workshops relating to the ‘Business of Schools’.

The workshops will be based on three simple premises.

The first is that all the senior managers of the school have the basic understanding of the financial information involved in running a school.

The second premise is that the effective control of school expenditure will lead to the reduction of existing costs enabling the procurement of high quality resources for the benefit of the school.

The third premise is that many schools have not exploited all the possible income streams they have at their disposal.
