The Governing Body has appointed Christopher Wheeler as the new Principal of Hillcrest International Schools from September 2013. Christopher is currently Headmaster of St Christopher’s Hove, a member of the Brighton College family of schools.

The Directors of Alpha Plus Group have appointed Julie Fardell as the new Head of Abingdon House School from September 2013. Julie is currently Principal of the Royal Blind School in Edinburgh.

Verdala International School, Malta

The Board has appointed Roy Crawford as the new Head of Verdala International School from September 2013. Roy is currently Principal of Northbridge International School, Cambodia.

The Board of Nord Anglia Education has appointed Andy Puttock as the new Principal of British School of Beijing from September 2013. Andy is currently Headteacher of Queen Elizabeth’s School, Dorset, UK.

British Oasis Academy, Abuja, Nigeria

The Founder has appointed Charles Johnson as the new Principal of British Oasis Academy which is due to be launched in September 2013. Charles was most recently Principal of the Duke of York’s Royal Military School, Dover, UK.

The Board of Nord Anglia Education has appointed Stephen Rogers as the new Principal of English International School, Prague from September 2013. Stephen is currently Secondary Headteacher of the British School, Al Khubairat, Abu Dhabi, UAE.

Nord Anglia Education has appointed Philippe Vanhille as Head of Secondary of College Champittet from August 2013. Philippe is currently Head of Secondary at Dallas International School, Texas, USA.

The Founder has appointed Malcolm Phillips as the Principal of James Hope College, due to be launched this year. Malcolm is currently Assistant Head at Farringtons School in the UK.

The Regent's School, Pattaya, Thailiand

Nord Anglia Education has appointed Garry Russell as Head of Secondary of The Regent's School, Pattaya from September 2013. Garry is currently Headteacher of the Senior School of Fulneck School, Leeds, UK.

The Board of ESOL has appointed Nigel Kynaston as the new Head of Primary for Cairo English School from September 2013. Nigel is currently Head of Primary at The Gulf English School, Doha, Qatar.

The Executive Team of Cognita Schools Group has appointed John Ing, formerly of Stowe School, as Head of Quinton House School, Northampton.

St Faith’s at Ash, Kent, UK

Wishford Schools has appointed Lawrence Groves, Head of the Junior School at Alderley Edge School for Girls, as the new Head of St Faith’s at Ash, near Canterbury.

British Council School, Madrid

The School Board has appointed Arabella Gonzalez as Bursar from March 2013. Arabella is currently Chief Operating Officer of ISS Global, an international e-commerce company. 

International College Spain

The Board of World Class Learning group has appointed Jeremy Singer as Head of School for the International College Spain in Madrid. Jeremy is currently Principal and Head of Senior School at St Dominic’s International School in Lisbon, Portugal.

College Alpin Beau Soleil, Switzerland

The Board of Nord Anglia Education has appointed Mrs Frances King as the new Director of College Alpin Beau Soleil, Switzerland from September 2013. Frances is currently Headmistress of Roedean School in the UK.

St George’s International School, Luxembourg

The Board of Governors has appointed Dr Christian Barkei as the new Principal of St George’s International School, Luxembourg from September 2013. Dr Barkei is currently Principal of the British International School, Jakarta in Indonesia. 

Rossall School, UK

The Council of Governors has appointed Elaine Purves as the new Head for Rossall School in Lancashire, UK from September 2013. Elaine is currently Head of Ipswich High School for Girls, UK.

Seaford College, UK

The Governing Board has appointed John Green as Headmaster of Seaford College from September 2013. John is currently Deputy Head of Seaford College.

British International School Jakarta, Indonesia

The Board of Governors of British International School, Jakarta has appointed Simon Dennis as Principal from August 2013. Simon is currently Principal of Hockerill Anglo European College, an outstanding UK state boarding school which was last year named as Sunday Times IB School of the Year.  

Heywood Preparatory School, UK

The Board of Wishford Schools has appointed Guy Barrett as the new Head of Heywood Preparatory School in Wiltshire. Guy was previously Deputy Head of Rose Hill Westonbirt School.

Aga Khan Education Services, Kenya


The Director of Education for Aga Khan Education Services has appointed Peter Barton as Head of Education for Aga Khan Education Services, Kenya. Peter was previously Principal of Sherborne Qatar. 

The English School of Mongolia


The Board of The English School of Mongolia has appointed Stephen Richfield-Wyatt as their new Director of Studies. Stephen has previous experience of leading and teaching in Vietnam and for Dulwich College.

The British School of Ulaanbataar, Mongolia


The Board of the British School of Ulaanbaatar has appointed Anna Williams as their founding Principal. The school will open in September 2012. Anna is currently Principal at the Newton International School in Lagoon.

The Head of School has appointed Catherine Stewart as the new Head of Early Years, to commence in September 2012.The Head of School has appointed Jonathan Pitt as the new Head of Primary, to commence in September 2012.

Park Lane International School, Prague

The School Board has appointed Paul Ingarfield as the new Principal, to commence in September 2012. Paul is currently Principal and Academic Director at the New English School, Amman, Jordan.

The Board of Governors has appointed David Flint as the new Head of Senior School, to commence in September 2012.

Ranby House School, Nottinghamshire

The Board of Woodard Schools has appointed Christian Pritchard as the new Headmaster of Ranby House School, the prep school to Worksop College, to commence in September 2012. Christian is currently Head of Lower School at the British School Amsterdam.

The Board of the New Cairo British International School has appointed Raymond Williams as the new Director, to start in August 2012. Raymond is currently Headmaster of the British School Quito, Ecuador.

Seaford College Prep School, West Sussex

The Headmaster and Governors of Seaford College have appointed Sebastian Rees as the new Head of Seaford College Prep School, to start in September 2012. Sebastian is currently Director of Studies at Junior Kings School, Canterbury.

Dulwich College, Singapore

Dulwich College Management International (DCMI) has appointed Jayne Scott as the new Bursar of Dulwich College Singapore, to start later this year. Jayne is currently Bursar at Austin Friars St Monica's School in Carlisle.

Dulwich College, Suzhou, China

Dulwich College Management International (DCMI) has appointed John Todd as the new Head of Dulwich College Suzhou, to start in August 2012. John is currently Head of Compass International School in Doha, Qatar.

New Cairo British International School, Egypt

The Board of Directors of New Cairo British International School has appointed Raymond Williams as their new Principal, to start in August 2012. Since 2009, Raymond has been Director of the British School Quito, a British Embassy School in Ecuador. Prior to that, he had three successful years as Secondary School Principal at Beijing BISS International School.

The Edron Academy (El Colegio Britanico), Mexico

The Board of The Edron Academy in Mexico City has appointed Brian Cooklin as Headmaster from April 2012. Brian was Head of Stonelaw High School in Scotland from 1996.

Aga Khan Academy, Hyderabad

The Director of Aga Khan Academies has appointed John Puddefoot as Head of Academy for the Aga Khan Academy, Hyderabad, from September 2011. John was previously Warden of S.Thomas' College, Sri Lanka and before that was Deputy Head (Curriculum), Eton College, UK.

The British School in Tokyo, Japan

The Board of the British School in Tokyo has appointed Brian Christian as Principal from September 2012. Brian was Principal of St Joseph International High School, Singapore from 2009 and before this was Principal of The British International School of Shanghai. In the UK Brian was Headmaster of Liverpool College HMC.

Sidcot School

The Governors of Sidcot School have appointed Iain Kilpatrick as Headmaster from September 2012. Iain was previously Headmaster of Beaconhurst School, Bridge of Allan from 2005 and before this was Housemaster and Head of Department at Strathallan School HMC.

Pembridge Hall School for Girls

The Board of Alphaplus has appointed Henry Keighley-Elstub as Headmaster of Pembridge Hall School for Girls from September 2012. He is currently Deputy Head of Wetherby Preparatory School in London, a post he has held since 2009. Prior to this he was Senior Master and Head of Department at Chesham Preparatory School.

The Ryleys School, Cheshire

The Governors of The Ryleys School, Cheshire have appointed Paul Berry as Headmaster from September 2012. Paul is currently Deputy Headmaster of S.Anselm's Preparatory School, a post he has held since 2008. His previous experience includes state primary and independent prep school posts at schools including Clayesmore Prep School and Durlston Court.

St Peter's Academy, Stoke on Trent

Woodard Academies Trust and the Lichfield Diocesan Board of Education are delighted to announce the appointment of Mr Joe Burns as the new Principal of St Peter's Academy Stoke on Trent. Both Woodard and the Diocese of Lichfield are experienced and supportive educational sponsors. Two very distinct communities have merged to form the St Peter's Academy which will initially operate on two sites during the construction phase of the new academy building, scheduled to open in September 2013.

Joe brings nearly thirty years teaching experience and has held senior leadership positions in four schools. Most recently he was Associate Headteacher at Winton Arts and Media College in Bournemouth. and prior to that at Unity College, Northampton. Joe will take up his position in January 2012.

Aga Khan Education Services

Aga Khan Education Services appointed Amanda Holmes as Director of the Aga Khan Early Learning Centre, Dubai, from August 2011. Amanda has worked for CfBT from 2006 as a Teaching and Learning Consultant and from 2008 as a Partnership Management Advisor at various schools in the UAE.

Aga Khan Education Services also appointed Dr Karen Kelly as Senior Manager, Early Childhood and Primary Programmes. Since 2010, Karen has worked for Colorado Department of Education, USA, as Senior Consultant, Office of Professional Services and Educator Licensing. Previously, from 2007, she was an Early Years Specialist for the Education Institute, Supreme Education Council in Doha, Qatar.

Greensprings School, Lagos

Greensprings School, Lagos appointed Andrew Egan as Head of School, Anthony Campus from September 2011. Andrew has been Deputy Headteacher/ Head of Primary of St. Ignatius Catholic School in Grand Cayman, British West Indies since 2008 and prior to that was Headmaster of St Dominic’s Priory School in Staffordshire, UK.

Greensprings School also appointed Dr. George Hickman as Director of Education from September 2011. George has been Headmaster of British International School Phuket, Thailand since 2005.

British School of Alexandria, Egypt

The British School of Alexandria, Egypt appointed Gillian Greenwood as its new Principal/CEO from August 2011. Gillian has most recently been a Leadership Advisor for Nord Anglia Education in Al Ain, UAE and prior to that was the Founding Principal of King's College, Murcia in Spain.

The British School of Alexandria appointed Carol Rolfe as its new Bursar/ Business Manager from August 2011. Carol has been Bursar of British International School of Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia since 2009 and was previously Business Manager of Onslow College, New Zealand.

The British School of Alexandria appointed Alastair Hutt as its new Head of Primary/Vice-Principal from August 2011. Alastair has been Deputy Headmaster of The Buchan School on the Isle of Man since 2009.  

Portland Place School, Alpha Plus Group

Alpha Plus Group appointed Tim Cook as the new Head of Portland Place School from September 2011. Tim has been Deputy Head of St Dunstan's College since 2009 and prior to that held various positions for fourteen years at Dulwich College.

Worksop College

Worksop College appointed Gavin Horgan as Head from September 2011. Gavin has been Deputy Rector of Glasgow Academy since 2009 and prior to that was Deputy Head, Academic of St George’s College, Buenos Aires.

Dulwich College, Beijing

Dulwich College, Beijing appointed Simon Herbert as Headteacher from September 2011. Simon is currently Housemaster at Fettes College and has been Head of Modern Languages. Previously he worked at Eltham College as Head of French and Master i/c Spanish.

Deira International School, Dubai

Deira International School, Dubai appointed Jeff Smith as Director, to join the school in September 2011. Jeff has for the past four years been Headteacher of Guernsey Grammar School and Sixth Form Centre in the Channel Islands and was previously Head of Secondary School for the British International School, Jakarta.

Roedean School, UK

Roedean appointed Richard Poffley as its new Director of Finance and Administration. Richard joins Roedean from his post of Chief Operating Officer at Anouska Hempel Ltd, with previous experience also as Finance Director for Fox Linton Associates Ltd.

Capital Science Academy, Abuja

Capital Science Academy, Abuja, Nigeria appointed their new Vice-Principal Academic, David Spencer, who will take up post in September. David is currently Vice-Principal of Day Waterman College in Ogun Sate, Nigeria.

The Regent Secondary School, Abuja

The Regent Secondary School, Abuja, Nigeria appointed their new Principal, Ian McCutcheon, who will take up post in September. Ian has most recently been Headmaster of Bromsgrove International School, Thailand, and prior to that was Headmaster of College, Pinehurst School, Auckland.

Dulwich College International High School Programme, Zhuhai

Dulwich College International appointed Jonathan Taylor as Director of its High School Programme in Zhuhai. Jonathan takes up his new post this Spring. He has been Head of the Sixth Form at Hinchley Wood School, Surrey.

Herries Preparatory School

Herries Preparatory School, Cookham Dean appointed Sophie Green as their new Headmistress to succeed Rachael Hodgson·when she leaves at the end of the academic year. Sophie is currently Director of Studies at St George's Preparatory School, Windsor Castle.

British International Primary School of Stockholm

The British International Primary School of Stockholm appointed their new Principal, Carl Hutson, who will succeed Jane Crowley when she leaves in August. Carl is currently Vice Principal (Leadership and Management) at The Alice Smith School, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

British School of Boston

The British School of Boston appointed Paul Wiseman as its new Headmaster to succeed Dr Bruce Robinson at the end of this academic year. Paul has held a very successful career for the past 23 years at The British School, Rio de Janeiro, for the past 17 years as its Director.

British International School of Jakarta

The British International School of Jakarta (BISJ) has recently appointed Rachael Hodgson·as its new Head of Secondary, to begin in August 2011, succeeding Paul Starkie. Rachel is currently Headmistress of Herries Preparatory School in Berkshire, UK.

BISJ has also appointed Shane Nathan as the new Head of Primary to succeed Kevin Rae. Shane will be joining BISJ when he leaves his current post of Primary Principal at the International School Brunei.

Malvern College

Malvern College, Worcestershire, appointed Kate Tripp as their new Head of Human Resources. Kate has worked since 2005 for Worcester Community Housing (WCH), formerly as their Head of Human Resources and latterly as Head of Organisational Development. Her previous roles in HR have been with the Meningitis Trust and Chelsea Building Society.

 
Bruern Abbey

Bruern Abbey, Oxfordshire, appointed John Floyd as its new Headmaster, to succeed Philip Fawkes. John will join the school in September when he leaves his current post as Deputy Headmaster of Westminster Cathedral Choir School.
