An exciting opportunity to lead the Finance and Administration department in one of the South West’s leading academic schools.

The Board of Governors are seeking to appoint an outstanding candidate who will have responsibility for leading and managing the financial direction and development of the school and is capable of assisting them in delivering world-class outcomes.

Founded in 1590, QEH occupies a prominent city centre site, with 630 pupils in the senior school, of which just under 200 are in the Sixth Form.

The school has recently invested £3.5million in a new Science and Art building, new Sixth Form recreation, study and cafeteria facilities, and redesigned and expanded facilities for Music and IT. Current projects include a £3million investment in sports facilities and the establishment of an international school.

The post is for May 2019 and commands a generous salary with other significant benefits.

The Board of Governors are looking to appoint a Director of Finance and Administration who will:

  • demonstrate strategic analytical skills of the highest order;
  • have successful senior management experience with an outstanding record of financial administration, management and project control;
  • have awareness of contemporary educational issues as well as an interest in the education of young people;
  • demonstrate sensitivity to and support for the values and culture that are central to QEH.
