FOUNDING HEAD OF PREP

The King’s School Canterbury, Bengaluru and Anthony Millard Consulting are delighted to invite applications for the post of Founding Head of Prep of The King’s School Canterbury, Bengaluru.

The Founding Head of Prep will play a pivotal role in shaping and leading this new venture, establishing the Nursery and Pre-Prep (ages 3–7) from the ground up opening in August 2027 with the wider school opening in 2029. This is a unique opportunity to become a founding member of the King’s Canterbury international leadership team, representing King’s educational values and standards in India for the first time.

The King’s School Canterbury, Bengaluru, opening in August 2027, will be the first King’s Canterbury school in India. Located on a purpose-built campus, the Pre-Prep will offer an outstanding education to pupils aged 3–7, blending the best of the British independent school tradition with an international outlook and Indian cultural context.

The Founding Head of Prep will lead the establishment, development, and day-to-day operation of the Pre-Prep of The King’s School Canterbury, Bengaluru. As a founding senior leader the post holder will shape the vision, culture, curriculum and pastoral provision of the Pre-Prep and Prep ensuring the alignment with King’s Canterbury values while responding sensitively to the Indian and international context.

The successful candidate will work on the ground for six – twelve months before opening, leading and supporting the pre-opening phase, staff recruitment, curriculum design and learning environments, inspection readiness, admissions launch, and parent engagement.

They will be an outstanding educator with proven leadership experience, combining deep understanding of Early Years and Key Stage 1 pedagogy with the ability to build teams, shape culture, and adapt to an international context.

The post is for August 2026 (or as soon as possible thereafter) and commands a comprehensive package.
