AMC was pleased to have organized and led a special seminar on “Securing Schools” held recently at the Royal Overseas league. It was chaired by Sir Roger Tomkys KCMG and major contributions were made by John Clarke (senior solicitor with Stone King), Colin Bell (CEO COBIS) and the team from CrisisCast. Little did we expect, however, that world events would follow so quickly to make the threat to civilised values and institutions all too clear. The terrorist atrocities in Paris and Mali need no further comment except to underline the serious need for all schools to address the need for protection, both educational and physical, from extremism and its advocates. The international situation is clearly uncertain and dangerous. We will all need to consider our strategies for safety and continuity in the event of serious threat.
Attached are notes made and photographs taken on the day by AMC directors David Pullinger and Nigel Archdale. A link to the article referred to by Colin Bell is below.
